The negotiation process is all about knowing -- knowing your own objectives and limitations, as well as knowing all you can about ‘the other side’.  The most efficient way to get the information you need is to ask the right questions at the right time.

In this skills-based workshop, participants have many opportunities to practice formulating and asking targeted, open-ended questions.  Asking effective questions is a powerful tool for:

·    discovering the motivations and unstated objectives of ‘the other side’;
·    breaking down barriers that discourage negotiators from exploring creative solutions;
·    reducing tension during the negotiation session; and,
·    helping negotiators clarify their own motivations and objectives when preparing for a negotiation session.

This workshop can be also customized to meet the specific needs of participants who need to negotiate on a daily basis. These workshops are highly practical and interactive in nature. Participants will be asked for their expectations and training goals in advance.
