Global Political Economy
Course Objectives:
What is the global distribution of power and wealth? Does it matter? Who decides who gets what, where and how? What are the alternative frameworks for understanding the global system of power and wealth? How is it managed? For whose benefit?
This module develops tools for understanding fundamental features of the international business.
You´ll learn to:
• Understand the impact of the International Monetary Fund, World Trade Organization, and World Bank on global business
• Understand the dynamics of cooperation and conflict in international trade and financial relations
• Understand the prospects for global economic growth and development

Target Group: It should be noted that the course neither assumes nor requires an economics background since the emphasis is not upon the technical aspects of international economics but the socio-political structure and context of international economic relations. Managers should, however, be prepared to understand the underlying logic of economic arguments.
