Training Course ArchiMate® 3.0 Foundation – Level 1

Enterprise architects need an unambiguous framework to describe their enterprise architectures. ArchiMate is an open standard model language for Enterprise Architecture (EA). ArchiMate enables architects to document Enterprise Architecture in a consistent and coherent way and to communicate it to multiple levels within the organization. This leads to a better synchronization between business and IT.

In this training you learn to use ArchiMate as the EA model language. You will take the independent Open Group Foundation exam, so after succesful completion of the exam you will be registered for ArchiMate 3.0 Foundation at The Open Group.

At the end of this course you will:

• Understand the background, key concepts and applications of ArchiMate® Core for modeling and describing architectures
• Be able to use the ArchiMate® language and techniques to visualize and communicate architectures
• Understand the additional layers and aspects of ArchiMate®, their viewpoints and their application to core concepts
• Be able to interpret the ArchiMate 3.0® specification correctly prior to taking the ArchiMate® 3.0 Foundation exam

• ArchiMate 3.0 Foundation exam

This training course was developed for anyone who wants to learn about and/or start applying ArchiMate 3.0 and its extensions and who wants to get certified. This would be for example
business.- enterprise-, and IT architects and consultants.

You get to know ArchiMate 3.0 through presentation of the theory, exercises and assignments. The variety in learning methods makes it easier for the subject matter to ‘stick’. There is time to discuss application in your own work environment.

No specific prerequisites. The Enterprise Architecture Foundation training offers general prior EA knowledge.
