I am sure you have been receiving lots of emails about the new General Data Protection Regulations, that were introduced late last month. Like every other organisation the 3Rs must have explicit consent to hold and process personal information. I am in the process of finalising a new data protection policy and privacy notice, which will be uploaded to the public area of the website shortly. However in the meantime I need to determine if you wish to continue receiving emails from us.
As a membership organisation we have a legitimate reason to hold member information and communicate with members, in the course of routine membership administration and association activities. However, with GDPR now in place I am required to review our mailing list and contact all those who have yet to renew their membership for 2018. Without a valid membership and consent we will be unable to continue sending you emails with news and race information.
New this year is a social membership category, costing just £10 per year. Although it does not provide voting rights it does cover the basics of membership and consent, to enable us to keep you on the mailing list.

We appreciate that some of our pilot members renew ahead of entering their first race of the season and would like to reassure you that a payment for social membership could be upgraded to full pilot member at any time, by simply paying the difference in membership fee.
Our next race is at Haverfordwest on 23/24 June, so please get in touch asap if you would like to take part.
I hope that you wish to continue hearing from us and look forward to receiving your completed membership form in the near future.
